Our nursing team includes Registered Veterinary Nurses who have a special interest in exotics and birds and indeed keep them themselves as pets.
The availability of Computed Tomography simplifies the diagnosis of disease in chelonians which is so often a frustrating challenge in practice.
Our Surgical Team have an excellent success rate in returning our more unusual patients to health assisted by specialised anaesthetic monitoring and ventilation to maintain effective respiration while unconscious.
Nevertheless, it is important to recognise the fragility of many of our small unusual pets so we have overnight nursing to give each one the best chance of surviving major surgical interventions.
