With considerable combined experience of the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, your clients will be speaking with the same team of veterinary surgeons throughout their treatment. We pride ourselves on the clarity of our explanations and levels of client satisfaction.
Our team has the philosophy of considering the whole patient which ensures that problems contributing to the ocular disease are also addressed, for example, investigating Cushing’s disease where indicated in cases of recurrent indolent ulceration.
Disorders commonly managed by our team
Our ophthalmology team routinely diagnose corneal and eyelid diseases using slit lamp biomicroscopy and tonometry.
We can investigate pathology of the posterior chamber using a high frequency dedicated ultrasound probe so that, even when the back of the eye cannot be visualised, its anatomy can be assessed.
For retrobulbar disease, the ophthalmology team have the option of an internal referral for either Computed Tomography or Magnetic Resonance as appropriate.
Equipped with operating microscope and phacoemulification machine, our ophthalmology teams are prepared for catarract surgery and even corneal surgical repair on an emergency basis (e.g. for ruptured corneal ucler with iris prolapse).
Severe acute glaucoma and stromal ulceration occasionally require intensive monitoring and frequent topical treatment (e.g. up to once every 15 minutes). Our twenty four hour dedicated nursing team has a great deal of experience in nursing these complex opthalmic cases, where early intervention are critical in the early stages of the diseases.
